I've been using DAP on here for a few months now. But this last week when I tried to download a file, DAP would just close. And my speeds without DAP have just been damn too slow

The archive.org folks have limited the number of concurrent connections from any one host to 1 at a time. Download Accelerator works by opening multiple connections at a time which maximizes your incoming bandwith, but really bangs on a server.

However, now avalable on archive.org is the Open Content Network download tool. It does an even better job of maximizing your incoming bandwidth and does so while remaining within the connection limit. You can find out more about it here:

Download accelerator plus can still be used as a download client. You have to go into Options-> Connetions and set to Normal Speed. This makes it so DAP uses only one connection for the transfer. Much like GetRight, you can queue up several files, and resume is supported, so I believe it is a decent app for http.

I think it works on the principle of multiple connections... so NO it would NOT work...
